Ok, so despite the negative connotations, rules can be a good thing, too :) These are just a few quick little guidelines to keep in mind when posting. If you have any questions or comments, e-mail them to GoblinQueeen@aol.com.

1) No one can kill or brutally maim anyone else's character without their permission. I think that's pretty self explanatory, but it's just saying that, yes, you may occationaly fight with another character (or get thrown off a blimp), but it's still up to you how it affects your character.  If you would like them to be mortally wounded (though I certainly hope no one does) you may do so.
2) No one is omniscient (ok, there are a few exceptions to that, but unless you are a big, glowing crystal, you'll have a hard time convincing me).  If there is a fight in Atlantis and you are in Washington, DC, you probably aren't going to know about it without a good reason. That is not to say if you want to jump into the thread, you can't, but try to think of a logical way of getting there.
3) Anyone can start a thread. You're writing for Audrey and you want to start a conversation with Vinny, go ahead (that is of course, if Vinny is agreeable).  Or perhaps you want to delve into Mole's past a little (as much as we all don't want to know) feel free.
4) Ratings.   Ok, the thing here is that this is an open board and anyone can join, so it would be best things stayed as clean as possible. If you have a post you think goes above PG, put a disclaimer on it. I don't care how it's worded, but just something to let other readers know they may want to steer clear of that one if they are reading with younger kids around, or they *are* a younger kid, or they really don't want to read above PG. (hey, it works for the American Cinema, it can work for yahoo!groups).  Also, even with a disclaimer, I would like not to go above PG-13/semi-R. If anyone doesn't want to read a post or thread with a disclaimer on it, but wants to know the gist of it just to be able to keep up, I will be keeping all thread summaries PG on the website, so you can read it there when I update, or I will be reading all posts that come through (daunting task, I know) so email me and I'd be happy to give you the G version.
5) What makes a post above PG? Excessive language (which usually isn't necessary anyhow, but there are those times when a certain word expresses the idea more clearly and concisely than anything else), Excessive violence (we aren't talking a bar fight, we are talking about someone or something bleeding to death on the floor, vegetables don't count), Nudity and/or overly romantic situations (I think that one speaks for itself, right?).  Something to the effect of <Reader Discretion for Language, etc..> in the subject line of the post is a good general idea.
6) You really really really have a great idea for where the thread could go. Post it in Expedition Briefings, that way everyone else is clued in to what you are trying to do. Now, you don't have to give a reason, that would spoil all the fun, but at least let people know, 'hey, we need to get the group back over here for a little bit.'
7) Did I leave anything out? Oh yeah, most important rule of all : Have fun with it.
