The Happy Couple

What could be more perfect than a cat and a dog?  Ok, well, a lot of things, but still, even before I saw Treasure Planet, I started thinking, 'Aww, wouldn't it be cute if....'  but that was based purely on two things: the fact I knew the captain was going to be a woman and my knowledge of 'Treasure Island .'  The book has been a favorite of mine since I first read it in the 6th grade and I knew in the original, the Captain is shot and essentially, Doctor Livsey saves his life.  Now, at that time of course, I was wondering just how many of the elements from the book Disney would keep.  Would the captain still be shot and would the doctor then save her?  Well, in the end, she wasn't quite shot and the doctor didn't really save her, but I do love how it came out.  

It was most definitely not love at first sight.  They both posses a kind of wit about them, though Amelia's is much more fast paced and Doppler's is more the highbrow with just a touch of lovable ineptitude.  They are well matched and it makes their rivalry just as much fun as the romance.
