'And I wanna tell you who I am...'

Full name: James Pleiades Hawkins, son of 
Sarah and Leland  Hawkins.

Leland and Sarah married at a young age and 
weren't entirely ready to raise a family when Jim
came into the picture.  Jim was unusually bright
for his age.  He built his first solar surfer at the 
age of 8.  More important to him though, was his 
father's affection.  He worked his entire life in a 
constant effort to win his father's approval, but 
when he was 9, his Leland left and never came 
back.  Feelings of rejection, abandonment, and 
betrayal swept over him at having lost the one 
thing he had tried so hard to gain: his father's 
love.  Resentment towards his mother and 
himself began to build for at least in his mind, 
driving his father away.  More than that, he 
completely lost faith in himself.  Now at 15, he's 
failing at school and having frequent run-ins 
with the local law enforcement.  When a 
treasure map falls into his hands, he leaps at the 
chance to prove to himself and the world that 
he is worth something after all.
